In this video I show you how to use the “Background Eraser Tool” to remove the background from an image. It can be tricky to remove the background when there is hair involved. I take you through exactly how you can remove the background successfully.
In this Photoshop tutorial, you will learn how to mask hair from busy backgrounds. We will start with a quick crash course on layer masks and the select and mask workspace. We will start with an image with a solid background to learn how to cut out hair in Photoshop. Then we will move on to masking a photo with a busy background, and I will show you the things that you can do when working with a photo like this. You will also learn how to create brushes in Photoshop to help you recreate hair when you simply cannot extract it from its background.
Here I’ll show you a more complex way of masking or deep etching hair from it’s background. This technique comes in really handy with hair that is harder to define from it’s background. Ie: blonde hair on a white background. This technique allows you to amplify the difference between the two to “lift” the hair off.
